If you’re driving through Auburn and don’t stop at Ikeda’s for their razzleberry pie, turn your car around and fix your life. We picked up a pie on our way from California to Utah, thinking it would be a nice treat for the family. What actually happened: my 80-year-old father-in-law went full pie pirate and ate it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No shame. No remorse. Just fork-to-face action like it was his job. By the time the rest of us realized what was happening, all that was left was a single sliver — and I’m pretty sure he licked that too. Was it worth the family pie feud? 1000%. Tart, sweet, flaky, and possibly addictive. We’re still talking about it and might stage an intervention next time. Or just buy six pies. Bottom line: Ikeda’s razzleberry pie is a must. Just don’t let Grandpa near it unsupervised.

Great local shop to get high quality produce and fruit! The deli counter also serves some great sandwiches. The pies here are out of this world delicious and so are the muffins! They also have a good selection of dips that have a sample tray so you can try before you buy! Highly advise checking this place out, despite the tight parking lot

Our family has come here for decades. Perfect stop for over the hill. It is worth waiting for a parking spot. Order a milkshake and then go through the store. If you get the frozen chicken pot pies it will help keep your other goodies cool. Also totally worth it. The fresh produce obviously. But make sure to check out their sauces, marinade, spreads, and jams. The selection of hot sauce is amazing. Their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The family that owns it always has someone there. There are several generations. when you leave DON'T Forget the PIE!

I have one more place I must stop on my way to Reno or the Sierra after I visit Ikeda’s Market. I love this place! It is a store and restaurant where I can get all the yummy stuff and have my lunch at the same time at one stop when I’m going on my camping trips. The market has almost everything I want plus the delicious pies I can eat there and bring a couple more to my camping. I know my friends will love me when they taste the pies. The customer service at Ikeda’s Market is excellent and fast. I like the huge selection of salsas available with the sample. I can make my decision based on my preferences. Good jobs! Ikeda’s.

Ikeda’s – 5/5 Stars Ikeda’s is a hidden gem that combines the best of a specialty grocery store and a roadside diner, and it’s worth every bit of the hype. Whether you’re stopping at the Davis or Auburn location, you’re in for something special. Let’s start with the pies—specifically, the Razzleberry Pie. It’s always fresh, bursting with flavor, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Pair that with one of their huge, made-to-order burgers, and you’ve got a meal worth the drive. My go-to is the Ortega and Avocado Burger with onion rings and bacon—it’s packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. The Auburn location is the heart of the operation. It’s where the magic happens—tamales, pies, cobblers, all made fresh daily. Plus, it has a burger shop attached, offering hot food you can enjoy while browsing their incredible selection of goods. The Davis location is a bit more focused on fresh produce, with a larger selection of fruits and vegetables, but it still delivers the same high-quality tamales and baked goods delivered daily from Auburn. What sets Ikeda’s apart is the unique assortment of items you won’t find at big commercial grocery stores. Their shelves are stocked with specialty hot sauces, marinades, dried fruit, wine, and top-notch meats. Everything feels curated and personal, with an emphasis on supporting small, privately owned businesses. It’s always bustling, and parking can be a little tricky, but trust me—it’s worth it. Whether you’re picking up fresh produce, browsing the shelves for a new favorite hot sauce, or indulging in one of their unbeatable pies or tamales, Ikeda’s is a must-visit.

Strawberry rhubarb was sour and tart even though rhubarb is supposed to cook sweet, not very tasty as a pie. Blueberry cobbler was sweet and tasty. Each were $30 but I wish there were a few half slices for smaller families. we paid $70 for 2 pies and a $10pack of 4 peach muffins that are tasty as well. Would go back as a self treat.
